The Department of Orientation and Commuter Student Involvement invites you to attend the annual tradition celebrated by more than 2,500 family members, Family Weekend.
Reconnect with your students and experience student life for yourself during this weekend packed full of events like model classes, interest sessions, family receptions, and a football game.
Family Weekend 2020 will be announced in by February 2020 . The Family Weekend schedule includes a range of activities families can participate in at their own leisure. Everyone participating in any Family Weekend event must be registered.

The cost of attending Family Weekend depends on your date of registration. Includes: · Weekend Campus Parking Pass ($32 value; one per family) · Herbert Wellness Center Access Pass ($20 value; one per family member registered) · Campus Meal Voucher ($10 value; one per family member registered) · Family Weekend T-Shirt (one per family member registered) · Commemorative UM Clear Tote Bag (one per family) · Entry to most Family Weekend activities · ***OPTION to purchase Family Weekend football game ticket & coach bus transportation*** Optional Ticketed Events: Some event tickets may be at capacity and sold out, so we recommend you register for Family Weekend as soon as possible. If you would like to make any changes to your registration or would like to cancel your registration and request a refund, please log back into the proxy CaneLink account. To fully engage in all Family Weekend activities, we recommend arriving in Miami in the late afternoon or early evening on Thursday, TBD, and departing Miami any time that works for your schedule on Sunday, TBD. Please note that classes are still in session on Friday, and your student will need to attend classes on this day. We suggest that you check with your student ahead of time regarding their own academic and co-curricular schedule. However, you are always welcome to customize your schedule and flights to meet your family’s need.
If a guest attending ‘Cane Kickoff and/or Family Weekend requires specific accommodations such as a wheelchair, please contact our office and we can provide a list of local vendors you can arrangement rentals from. We strive to ensure there are ample options for various dietary needs at ‘Cane Kickoff and/or Family Weekend events. Dining menus and options on campus generally include vegetarian, vegan, and kosher food options.
