Family Weekend 2024

family weekend Family Weekend

Thursday, September 12 to Sunday, September 15, 2024

Family Weekend, held annually between mid-September and early October, invites you to reconnect with your student, meet other 'Cane families, and interact with University faculty and staff while getting a preview of daily life on campus.

In addition to attending engaging programs, activities, and athletic events—including a Hurricanes football game, you will also have the opportunity to explore popular attractions throughout Coral Gables and the Miami area.

To fully engage in all Family Weekend activities, we recommend arriving in Miami late afternoon or early evening on Thursday and departing Miami on Sunday.

As we receive questions regarding date selection each year, please understand that Family Weekend is centered around the Miami Hurricanes football schedule, which is the most-attended weekend event. Between mid-September and early October, the only Saturday home game this year is September 14.

Schedule

The complete Family Weekend schedule will be available in mid-August via the  UMiami app. The app, free to download from both the App Store and Google Play, lists the up-to-date schedule of events and other helpful resources available during the week.  Once in the app, tap the person icon in the top right corner, tap My App Experience, and select Family Weekend. No log-in or account creation is needed.
